Overnight French Toast Casserole

Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf french bread
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 3 tsp vanilla divided
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2.25 cups milk
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
Topping
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 6 tsp butter cold and cubed

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Grease a 9x13 pan
  3. Slice and cube the bread
  4. Put half of the bread into your pan
  5. Beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar and 1/4 tsp vanilla together.
  6. Drop random spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture on top of the bread in pan.
  7. Place the remaining bread on top.
  8. Whisk the eggs, milk, cinnamon, brown sugar and vanilla together.
  9. Pour the egg mixture of the bread.
  10. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  11. The next morning, mix the topping ingredients and sprinkle on top of the casserole.
  12. Bake for 50-55 minutes of until done.

Notes

We enjoy this with a drizzle of maple or pancake syrup on top!
