These electrolyte carnivore jello bites are one of my favorite solutions to keep my family hydrated. They are carnivore friendly, budget friendly, kid approved, make ahead friendly and perfect for busy homeschool days!
Carnivore jello bites are great in the winter, but during the hot summer months, they make a delicious refreshing treat. The best part? They help replenish electrolytes without all the artifical junk and sugar in store bought sports drinks.
Why Electrolytes Matter
When eating carnivore, or a very low carb diet, your body doesn’t retain water the same way it does when you are eating carbs. That means you flush out sodium more quickly, and with it other essential minerals like potassium and magnesium.
Low electrolytes can look like:
- Headaches
- Fatigue
- Muscle Cramps
- Irritability
These little bites are a simple way to support hydration. They are great for active kids, moms who are on their feet all day, or anyone adjusting to lower carb eating.

How we use these in our home
In our house, I keep these in an air-tight food storage container in the fridge. They are perfect for mid-morning snacks, after playing outside, post-workout or if I just need a quick pick me up in the afternoon. They are also great for curbing a sweet tooth.
A bit about the ingredients
Our family loves LMNT (order through my link and get a free variety pack!). They are a zero-sugar electrolyte drink mix that come in a variety of flavors. I choose to use LMNT in my recipe because I have it on hand and my family enjoys the taste. But, you can use whatever electrolyte mix you like best. The water and gelatin amounts in the recipe should remain the same, but you can switch out the electrolyte mix with whatever kind your family likes best.

Ingredients
Method
- In a sauce pan, over medium heat, bring water to a boil.
- Once boiling, whisk in the gelatin and stir until dissolved.
- Remove from heat.
- Add the electrolyte drink mix and stir until dissolved.
- Pour into a 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish.
- Keep in fridge for 4-6 hours or until the gelatin has set.
- Cut into bite sized pieces and enjoy!
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
Budget tips
Buying gelatin in bulk is significantly cheaper than individual packets. And if you are unsure of what kind of electrolyte mix your family will enjoy, try getting a variety pack! Our family regularly uses LMNT, but there are several other good brands available.

If you are in a season where you feel depleted give these carnivore jello bites a try!
