My husband recently watched a YouTube video that featured a carnivore chicken strip recipe. He was very excited about it and let me know he would love if I made them. I haven’t seen the video but he did tell me the ingredients. I decided to give it a go and the results were delicious!

On Mondays I typically make a really simple lunch for my large family. We rotate between corn dogs and chicken nuggets along with tater tots. Since my husband and I are trying to follow the carnivore diet as close as possible, I decided to try my hand at making a carnivore chicken strip recipe. I didn’t follow an exact recipe, but my husband told me the ingredients to use (based off a video he had watched). The result was fantastic.
What They Are Made Of
The first ingredient is boneless, skinless chicken breasts. You could definitely switch these out for some boneless, skinless chicken tenders and make this meal even faster. I cut the fat off my chicken breasts, and then sliced them into thin strips. I knew I was going to be frying them in a skillet and I didn’t want the meat so thick that the outside burned before the inside was cooked thoroughly.
Next you will need some pork rinds, just plain ol’ pork rinds. I like the big box from Sam’s club because they don’t contain any other ingredients besides fried pork skins and salt.
I also used flaked parmesan cheese. You could use shredded colby jack cheese as well and it would be delicious.
The last ingredient is eggs. The eggs act as glue to hold the “bread crumbs” (aka. crushed pork rinds and cheese) onto the chicken.
How It’s Done
Slice your chicken breasts into strips about 1/2 -3/4 inch thick. This is easier to do when the chicken is still partly frozen.

Next you are gonna fill your food processor with pork rinds. I blended mine until they were pretty fine, then added some more and blended again. You want to keep blending until the pork rinds are crumbled up really fine. When you cook the chicken strips, if there are any big chunks of pork rinds on the outside of them, they get really hard, like almost break a tooth hard.

After the pork rinds are blended nice and fine, pour in your cheese and processor for about 10 more seconds.

Next get your skillet heating up on medium heat. I chose to use a cast iron skillet and butter to cook my chicken strips, but you could use a non-stick skillet and some oil, or whatever combination you prefer.
While the skillet is heating up, whip the eggs with a fork until they are completely mixed together.

Cook Them Up
Once your skillet is nice and hot, take one piece of chicken and dip it in the eggs. Make sure it is completely coated in eggs and then move it quickly to the pork rind mixture. Lay it in the bowl with the pork rinds and make sure all of it is covered with pork rinds and cheese. Then move it quickly to your skillet.

Make sure you don’t overload your pan. If you add too many pieces of chicken at once, your pan will cook down and you’ll end up with soggy chicken strips instead of crunchy ones.
Cook them on each side for 5 or so minutes. The cooking time will depend on how thick you cut your chicken. Once the inside is cooked all the way and the outside is nice and crunchy, move the chicken strips onto a plate lined with paper towels and keep them covered so they stay warm while you cook the rest of the chicken.

My family really enjoyed this carnivore chicken strip recipe and I’m so glad I gave it a try. I’m quite sure I’ll be making these again soon!

Ingredients
Method
- Begin by warming your skillet with butter over medium heat while you prepare the meat.
- If using chicken breasts, slice the meat into strips that are 1/2 – 3/4 inch thick.
- Mix the pork rinds and cheese together in a bowl.
- Taking once piece of meat at a time, dunk the chicken strip into the eggs to coat thoroughly.
- Move the chicken from the eggs into the pork rinds and coat completely.
- Once the skillet is hot, move the chicken into the skillet. Don't overload your skillet. If you put too many pieces of meat into the skillet at once, it will cause the skillet to cool down and the meat won't crisp up as well.
- Cook the chicken for 3-5 minutes on each side until it is cooked in the middle and crispy on the outside.
