What are Chaffles?
Chaffles are waffles made from cheese and eggs. You can use whole eggs, but if you enjoy a less “eggy” taste, egg whites work perfectly. When used as a base for pizza toppings, chaffles transform into a savory, protein packed version of a pizza crust.
Ingredients for Carnivore Pizza Chaffles
To make 2 pizza chaffles you’ll need just a few basic ingredients:
- 2 large whole eggs, or 1/2 cup egg whites
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Sliced pepperoni or cooked Italian sausage
- Optional marinara sauce (you can skip this for strict carnivore)
- Any additional toppings you enjoy such as bacon bits, ground beef, Italian seasoning, etc.
How to Make Keto Pizza Chaffles
- Preheat your mini waffle maker. I use this one and it is so nice! It can cook 4 chaffles at once and does it fairly quickly.
- In a small bowl, whisk the eggs and mix in the cheese.
- Grease the waffle iron with a bit of butter. Pour half of your batter into one waffle hole and the second half in another.
- Add toppings to your chaffles. Sprinkle a bit of Italian seasoning on top of the chaffle mix. I like to put a layer of pepperoni on mine before I close the lid. This makes the pepperoni nice and crunchy. Cook them for 3-4 minutes or until they are golden and crispy.
- From here you can eat them fresh from the waffle iron, or you can dip them in some warmed marinara sauce.

These carnivore pizza chaffles are quick, customizable, and totally satisfying. They’re perfect for a solo meal or a family gathering. In fact, a few of my kids prefer these to homemade pizza!
