Childhood favorite recipes are comfort food. They take your memory back to when everything was simple and there were no problems in the world. These are some of my favorites!

We recently had a potluck at church that was childhood favorites themed. It was so fun to see what people came up with. When I read the theme, these recipes are the first ones to pop into my mind.
My mom made homemade macaroni and cheese and “hamburger bean stuff” often as it was loved by everyone in our house. Its a super easy recipe to make and doesn’t take long to throw together.

Homemade macaroni and cheese is really simple. I basically follow the recipe on the box of Velveeta Cheese (or the Walmart brand). You cook and drain the pasta. While the pasta is draining, pour some milk into the bottom of the pan and then add the cheese. Leave it on low-medium heat and stir often until the cheese is melted and you have a yummy cheese sauce. Then turn off the heat, add the pasta back in and stir. Sometimes I will add a couple handfuls of shredded colby jack or cheddar cheese when I want it extra cheesy.
My kids really enjoy the cinnamon rolls I make and I thought about making those for them but then ran out of time. Instead, I made some yummy brownies from a recipe called, “lunch lady brownies”. They turned out so good and were delicious!

My favorite way to enjoy the macaroni and cheese and the hamburger bean stuff is by mixing them together… but you don’t mix them together on your plate! You keep them separate and then you take a bit of each on your spoon and eat them together. If you mix them together on your plate you loose the cheesiness of the mac and cheese. By taking a bit of each for every bite, you can taste them separately and then together. Delish!
I hope your family will enjoy some of my childhood favorites!
